Dr. James Moore is a physician you've grown to know and trust during his 30+ years of practice in northeast Georgia. His technique is impeccable. His commitment to state-of-the-art technology is second to none. A native of West Hartford, Connecticut, Dr. Moore received a B.A. from Duke University and an M.D. from New York University. Dr. Moore completed his internship at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia and his residencies in general and plastic surgery at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals. He is board certified in plastic surgery. Dr. Moore and his wife Susan, who is a retired nurse, are the parents of three daughters, Katie, Gwen and Libby. Dr. Moore is also known as Grandpa to two boys and a little girl. He enjoys such pastimes as long running, swimming, biking and has most recently taken up pickleball.
Kelsey Afonso, DNP-FNP, is a board certified family nurse practitioner who specializes in aesthetic medicine. With a dual Bachelor's of Science in Biology and Nursing and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice, Kelsey blends clinical acumen with a keen eye for aesthetics. As an injector, Kelsey possesses advanced training and proficiency in a wide range of cosmetic procedures, including neurotoxin injections, dermal fillers, chemical peels, microneedling and other minimally invasive treatments. She stays abreast of the latest advancements in aesthetic medicine, regularly attending continuing education courses to refine her skills and expand her repertoire of services. Kelsey specializes in enhancing natural beauty through advanced injectable techniques and skin rejuvenation treatments. In her spare time, Kelsey enjoys traveling with her husband, going to Target, and spending quality time with her cat Moo.
Tiffany originally moved to Athens to attend UGA, graduating with a Journalism degree, and loved it so much she never left. She was drawn to Esthetics in 2009 when prepping for her wedding. As she started receiving treatments to look beautiful on her wedding day, she thought “I can do that!” A few months later she applied to Athens Tech and in 2010 she passed state boards with her Esthetics license. From there she progressed in her field from waxing and lash extensions to laser hair removal and RF microneedling. Her goal is making patients look and feel their best. She enjoys hearing their stories and building relationships with everyone who comes in the door. When not at work, she loves reading, playing board games, being with her cat, and going on hikes with her husband, two kids, and their sweet dog.
Aubree moved to Athens in 2020 and attended Athens tech to learn about the esthetics industry. She passed her state boards and gained her licenses in 2022. From a young age she was always interested in skin care, facials, and laser hair removal. She has been getting treatments since high school and loved learning everything about skincare. After school she started working at The Moore Center and from there continued her education in dermaplane, RF Microneedling, and laser hair removal. She loves meeting new patients and helping them reach their skin goals. Her goal is to build relationships with all her patients and giving them good results. Outside of work she loves spending time with her fiancé and two cats. In her free time she enjoys reading, hanging out with her friends, and spending time outside. She plans to keep continuing her education in the esthetics industry and continue helping her patients.
Justin Clack, PA-C is our health and wellness clinician. Justin grew up in Snellville, Georgia and later relocated to Augusta, Georgia where he obtained his bachelors degree of Radiological Sciences in Nuclear Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia. After graduation, he attended graduate school at Nova Southeastern University in Orlando, Florida where he graduated with a Master of Medical Science, Physician Assistant. Most recently, he has started his pursuit of a MBA from Oklahoma State University. Since 2012, Justin has practiced in a variety of clinical settings, including 12 years of critical care medicine, 2 years of hospital medicine, and most recently orthopedic trauma. Justin has also developed an interest in wellness medicine and joins his wife, Carolyn, The Moore Center’s certified health coach, to assist patients in meeting their health and wellness goals. His practice at The Moore Center will focus on medically assisted weight management, and eventually other medical wellness therapies. During his off time, Justin enjoys being an active member with his family at Grace Athens Church in Watkinsville. He also enjoys spending time and vacationing with his beautiful wife and two daughters. Other hobbies include bowhunting, wildlife photography & videography, and UGA football! Go dawgs!
Katherine (Katie) Walraven is the Office Manager / Managing Director of The Moore Center Med Spa. She has been with The Moore Center since 2016. Katie, her husband, Russell, and 2 sons moved to Athens from Atlanta in 2016. The family made this move so that Katie could return to her hometown and help Dr. Moore and Susan open their new office. Katie just happens to also be one of Dr. Moore’s 3 daughters. Katie graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Business Management and certificates in Marketing and Accounting. She moved to New York to work for Sony Music in their marketing department, but moved back to Atlanta to follow her interest in digital marketing. The experience of 10 years in the digital marketing world coupled with years of attending plastic surgery conferences with her family has made her uniquely qualified to help connect the clients to the right provider!
Carolyn has been at The Moore Center for almost 7 years. She is a Georgia transplant originally from Virginia with her BS in Exercise Science and MS in Food and Nutrition. To continue her passion with health and wellness, she became a Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach in 2023. Carolyn believes that the aesthetic industry has evolved to a realm where the focus is on the self as a whole, enhancing our natural inner and outer beauty. It is her goal to help with this in any way possible; whether assisting CoolSculpting patients, our medical weight loss patients in improving their overall lifestyle, and seeing all those in between. She can’t wait to see what we at The Moore Center can do for our community and our patients! On her off days (when she is not still showing up to work), she spends time with her two young daughters and wonderful husband. Her hobbies include working out, reading, and Tennessee football (we’re actively trying to convert her).
Cheyenne has been at The Moore Center for a little under a year. She started coming to The Moore Center Medspa as a patient several years ago and fell in love with the aesthetic industry. She is the first and last smile you see when you come into our office. She is married to her high school sweetheart, and they have three dogs. During her time outside of work she enjoys going to the gym, trying new restaurants, shopping and traveling.
Lauren is a creative and fun-loving person who was raised on the southside of Atlanta, and is currently attending the University of Georgia to pursue her degree in Public Relations with a minor in Design and Media. She has always had a passion for people, skin care, and aesthetics. Working in different areas at The Moore Center for over a year now, Lauren has gained valuable knowledge about products and procedures that she shares with others as the Social Media and Marketing intern. Between working at The Moore Center and attending UGA, Lauren has her hands full! Outside of work and school, Lauren loves to travel, go shopping, plan events, scroll Tik-Tok and create!
